Shitty First Drafts
I enjoyed the way that Anne wrote this piece because it made it very interesting and enjoyable to read. She wrote very simply in order to make it easier for her writers to learn and improve their writing. Most pieces like this are very serious and have many big words and sentences that can confuse and discourage a novice writer. Anne claimed that writing a child-like draft at first and then going back to organize one's thoughts will greatly improve a writers ability. After doing this, a writer will know exactly what they want to convey in their writing and will just have to figure out how to do so successfully. This way of writing takes some effort, but in the end, your finished essay will be much better off. Anne also helps her readers realize that writing is not so bad and it can even be enjoyable.
