Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Do you agree with the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Policy? Why or Why Not?

I do agree with the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy because of all of the problems that will arise from changing the policy. The system has ran smoothly for the past 17 years with this policy, so why change it all of the sudden. If you are in the military, you are there to serve and fight for our country, not flaunt your homosexuality or ask for better treatment or a change of policy. Do you think that the military would change policy on drinking beer while on duty because alcoholics complained and wanted the policy changed because it was unfair?

As the article notes, many problems will arise from changing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy including life on base changing, will legal gay marriages now be okay, marriage benefits, housing for soldiers, and increased discrimination.
